We have a 24-hour cancellation policy from the scheduled time of pickup on the day of your adventure. In case of a late cancellation or a no show, you will be charged the full amount. If weather conditions cause Rocaliza staff to cancel a tour BEFORE tour starts, Guests will be reimbursed. Only Rocaliza determines when to cancel due to weather conditions.
-
All participants are required to be in good physical condition. Our adventure involves sustained hiking uphill and upriver. All participants have to be able to hike uphill on uneven terrain and must not have any physical impairment. We have a maximum weight limit of 220 pounds, which should be proportionate to your height. Guests that start a tour, and for health reasons cannot finish, will be charged full rate. If you are unsure of your physical condition, please refer to a height-weight ratio chart here.
-
Pregnant women are not advised to partake in our tours, due to the high level of risk involved in them. Rocaliza guides can and will determine if a participant is not fit to partake in the adventure. Participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to partake on any of the activities.
-
We are constantly monitoring the weather to make sure the conditions are safe for the participants. Even so our weather is very unpredictable and hard to foresee. Rocaliza reserves the right to cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions at any time. Please keep in mind that the tour takes place in a rain forest, which means that we still do the tour even if it’s raining.
-
We provide a full puerto rican meal prepared by a local family (ex. rice, beans, chicken, plantains). We also provide water and fruit snack during the adventure.
-
Shorts and T-Shirts are the norm. We recommend swimming trunks for the guys and bathing suits underneath the clothing for the girls. Rain jackets and ponchos are always a good idea, since we receive more than 100 inches of rain per year.
-
The best options are hiking sandals, such as Keens, that provide support on the heels and protect your toes. If you do not have these or similar sandals we recommend water shoes or sneakers. Flip flops are not accepted during the tour.
-
Bring a change of clothes, a towel, extra shoes (ex. Flip flops) for after the adventure, a small backpack, and a camera (waterproof cameras are the best).
-
Our tour guides always carry dry bags to protect your cameras when they are most likely to get wet.
-
